PUBLIC CHARTER PREP SCHOOL,
NEWPORT NEWS, VIRGINIA

We teach kids winning ways: a unique partnership between An Achievable Dream, Inc., a private non-profit organization and the Newport News Public Schools and the local business community provides an 8.5 hour school day and a 210 day school year with three 10-day intersessions for remediation, enrichment and accelerated work.
With 900 students who are economically disadvantaged and at risk of school failure, we provide an enriched curriculum with intensive reading and foreign language, small classes, cultural enrichment activities, tutoring, technology and character education.

Tennis instruction is provided for all students; military volunteers are role models and there is an on-site health clinic offering medical and dental care.

NATIONAL RECOGNITION:  "A Break the Mold School", Business Week Magazine; American Heroes in Education, Reader's Digest; National School of Character, National Association of Character Education.
