The school has made considerable strides in the past two years due to the efforts of the administration, the staff, students and parents.

Their motto is “High Achieving Learners.” Its mission is to do whatever it takes to ensure that all students will reach high academic and social standards: “No Alibis, no Excuses, No Exceptions.”

To assist students experiencing academic or behavior problems the Student Intervention Program serves as a committee to help classroom teachers by providing additional academic or behavior strategies to increase student success.

The entire staff at Hal Smith Elementary School is focused on one goal: improving academic achievement for all students. Due to their collaborative efforts, they are making a difference and students are showing academic success. The school has used this collaboration to develop and implement innovative ideas.
