Roosevelt Elementary has been a single-track YR School for the past 8 years. During that time it has demonstrated its commitment to providing a quality educational experience for every child.

Roosevelt serves a high-need population with 98% of their students on free or reduced meals; it is 84% Latino, including 233 English Language Learners.

For the past five years, Roosevelt has exceeded California’s State Academic Performance Index target, making significant gains in the migrant population, English learners and other subgroups.

Mathematics and reading achievement have been a targeted focus and Roosevelt has met this challenge. Intersessions have been used to target specific student needs and to support their learning.

Dedicated teachers, staff and parents of Roosevelt School have made the difference in increasing student achievement and making it a high priority. The school has kept the clear focus on a positive learning process for each student so that they continue to meet the challenges of academic and social development.

The strong emphasis that has been placed on literacy and math standards with appropriate instruction has had a tremendous positive impact on student achievement.

Roosevelt is preparing students for future success as outstanding contributing members of our society and world.
